    How the estimate works

    1

From duty point to motor power

The calculator converts litres per minute to cubic metres per second and applies the hydraulic power relationship P = ρ × g × Q × H. It then divides by pump efficiency to estimate motor input power and converts kilowatts to horsepower. The result is a preliminary estimate — final selection should include the pump curve, service factor, starting method, viscosity, temperature, and plant standards.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Technical & Operational FAQs

Q1.What inputs are needed for pump power sizing?

You need flow rate, total head, pump efficiency, and the liquid specific gravity. The calculator estimates hydraulic power and the motor power needed after efficiency losses.

Q2.Is this calculator a final motor selection?

No. It is a preliminary estimate. Final selection should include the pump curve, service factor, starting method, viscosity, temperature, and plant standards.
